Shawn Quinlivan, C.Ht.

Shawn Quinlivan is a seanCertified Clinical Hypnotherapist, an American Hypnosis Association Certified Master of Therapeutic Imagery, and a Certified Master Hypnotist. He is an honors graduate of the nationally accredited Hypnosis Motivation Institute in Tarzana, California, where he studied with world renowned Hypnotherapists and Imagery Masters.  Shawn is also a member of the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapists Association, the American Hypnosis Association, and the Hypnotherapists Union Local 472 (AFL-CIO).

Shawn brings to his practice a lifetime of interest and experience in the art and science of self-discovery. He has worked for more than 30 years as a counselor in the social work and legal professions, and is studied in the fields of health, wellness and human potential. He has practiced Transcendental Meditation all of his adult life, has authored two novels of metaphysical and archetypal fantasy, and has published a number of articles on mindfulness, wellness, holistic health, emotional intelligence, and higher consciousness.

Prior to founding Cathexis Therapeutic Imagery, Shawn spent 10 years in substance abuse rehabilitation and career development, and more than 25 years in the legal profession—his cognitive listening and analytical skills, and his intuition about people and bottom line objectives, are well honed. Today, Shawn combines his life experiences, compassion, humor, and common sense approach with his expertise in hypnotherapy, imagery techniques and mindfulness practices to help his clients achieve positive changes in their lives.

Shawn is committed to assisting his clients in facing their personal challenges and transforming their dreams and desires into reality.

In addition to his hypnotherapy practice, Shawn is an avid musician, novelist, hiker, and camper.  He is also an explorer of metaphysical and spiritual wisdom, and an aficionado of life’s mysteries and infinite possibilities.
