SOLVING ANXIETY, INSOMNIA, AND PANIC ATTACKS

Hypnosis & Emotional Freedom

Hypnotherapy Can Help You Reclaim Emotional Freedom From Anxiety Disorders

Hypnosis is a proven and potent anti-anxiety agent, and the most common clinical applications of hypnotherapy and therapeutic imagery (see the video below) are the treatment of stress and anxiety related conditions such as:

  • Panic Attacks
  • Fears & Phobias
  • Insomnia
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive & Adjustment Disorders

Panic attacks are common to all stress and anxiety related conditions, including insomnia, where the anticipation of sleeplessness can trigger panic attack symptoms such as increased heart-rate, rising body temperature, agitation, fearfulness, and frantic thoughts. Insomnia is commonly diagnosed as a symptom of emotional stress and anxiety.

Phobias are marked by anxiety or avoidance of places and situations where one may feel trapped and unable to return to safety. A phobia may manifest in environments such as elevators, subways, tunnels and bridges, or other destinations which are perceived as closed-in or threatening. Fear of social events and interpersonal situations is known as social phobia. Fear of animals or objects is known as simple phobia.  All phobias are irrational in nature as they cannot be tied to a specific traumatic event, and individuals may suffer from one or more of these conditions causing a general fear of public places and the tendency to stay at home, which is known as agoraphobia.

Fears are very similar to phobias, except they have a rational basis because they are rooted in a definite experience from the past to which the fear can be traced. Procrastination, resistance, anxiety, worry, apprehension, envy, hate, jealousy, shame, terror, and victimhood are all forms of fear—as well as fear of success and fear of failure. It is important to note that all stress and anxiety related conditions, including fears and phobias, can be triggered and/or exacerbated by new or sudden pressures that may come up in day to day life.

Post-traumatic stress disorders are mental disturbances that can occur after an accident, loss of a loved one, disaster, military combat, witnessing a catastrophe, or from physically or psychologically abusive relationships. 25214278_sPost-traumatic stress typically starts within a few months of a trauma, but can sometimes arise years later, especially when stemming from childhood incidents, and can be fueled by stressful situations or anxiety. Symptoms include intrusive memories such as flashbacks or upsetting dreams of the traumatic event, avoidance of talking about the event, avoiding activities that were once enjoyable, hopelessness, overwhelming guilt or shame, memory and concentration problems, difficulty maintaining intimate relationships, insomnia, irritability and misplaced anger, self-destructive habits, being easily startled or frightened, seeing or hearing things that aren’t there.

Obsessive compulsive disorders are tensions caused by thoughts and desires to perform repeated or inappropriate actions, as well as attempts to deny, ignore, undo, hide, or suppress these behaviors. Symptoms include persistent intrusion of unwanted ideas, thoughts, images or impulses when trying to think about or do other things. These behaviors can have themes such as fear of contamination, orderliness, demanding reassurances, counting, aggressive impulses, sexual images or thoughts, worries about unlocked doors or stove burners being left on, images of hurting or injuring others, inappropriately shouting obscenities, frequent hand washing or picking at skin, nail biting and hair pulling.

Adjustment disorders typically surface as an inability to respond to the challenges of new situations; this condition is sometimes called homesicknessSymptoms include anxious moods, worry, being nervous or jittery, sadness, hopelessness, suicidal thoughts, despair, trouble sleeping, difficulty concentrating, and feeling overwhelmed. Adjustment disorders may include acting out behavior such as fighting, reckless driving, ignoring bills, avoiding family or friends, performing poorly in school or at work, skipping school, or vandalizing property.
